A unique electrode in its class with excellent welding properties for welding of low-carbon and low-alloyed steel with yield strength up to 380 MPa in all spatial positions at DC reverse polarity and AC current. The electrode has relatively low sensitivity to rust, primer, zinc coating and other surface contamination, easy slag removal and formation of a smooth surface of the weld bead with smooth transition to the base metal. Due to the ease of both initial and repeated ignitions, the electrode is indispensable for short welds, tack welding and welding with occasional arc breakages. Unlike most rutile electrodes, OK 46.30 enables welding in the vertical-down position in combination with a much lower minimum current threshold at which the arc burns steadily. The low no-load voltage and stable arc burn-up at extremely low currents allow these electrodes to be used for domestic welding applications.
